At Courage we recognize that fly fishing can be an intimidating pastime to pick up. We also believe that fly fishing should be fun and only as complicated as you choose to make it.

For those who are new to the sport, we’ve designed a single afternoon course to get you up and running. We’ll cover everything from casting fundamentals, gear choice, rigging, reading water, fly selection, and most importantly fishing!

For these outings we begin on dry land where we get our students familiar with several essential casts. We then move to the water, choosing a spot with plenty of action to tie it all together and catch some fish.

The intention of this day is for you to walk away with everything you need to confidently and productively fish a piece of water with a fly rod while laying solid groundwork for future learning.
